When Indira Gandhi was ten years old, her father, Jawaharlal Nehru, was away in Allahabad for the summer, so Indira spent the season in Mussoorie. Nehru wrote her a number of letters over the course of the summer in which he described the creation of the earth, the origins of human and animal life, and the development of civilizations and cultures throughout the world. Jawaharlal Nehru's those letters were composed as "Letters from a Father to His Daughter" book.
