How to Recognize Pure Honey and the Benefits of Honey

Honey is a kind of sweet and thick liquid which bees collect from different species of flowers to preserve their honey. Which people later collect from bees for their own needs. Honey is a liquid medicinal herb with medicinal properties. It plays a very important role in health protection and disease prevention. Besides, the price of honey is very low in Bangladesh and some amount of honey is cultivated along with natural honey.

The main chemical constituents of honey are fructose and dextrose. Honey also contains sucrose, protein, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, aluminum, copper, chlorine, sulfur and vitamins ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘K’ and ‘E’.

Honey has so many qualities that it is very beneficial for people. Honey works better than medicine in many cases as an antidote to many diseases in the human body. Such as: -

1. Cold and cough are cured by mixing two teaspoons of honey and bask leaf juice.

2. Mix two teaspoons of honey in water every morning and drink it for four-five months at a time.

3. Mixing a little honey in water heals stomach ulcers.

4. Mix one teaspoon of honey in one cup of milk and drink it every morning to increase energy.

5. Drinking one teaspoon of honey every day increases the body's resistance to disease.

6. Mixing a little water with honey reduces body fat.

There is no shortage of demand for honey among people for all its benefits. On that occasion some unscrupulous traders are mixing various adulterated products with honey or selling fake honey to common people. Ordinary people like me are suffering from that. So before buying honey, it is important to check whether it is pure honey. Here are some ways to make pure honey: -

1. Water test: Take a little honey in a glass of water. If the honey is fake then it will mix completely with the water but the real honey will not mix completely and some part will float in the water.

2. Fire test: First take a match stick and then dip it in honey. And in that case try to light the fire by rubbing the matchbox. If fire burns, then honey is the real reason, because pure honey is a flammable substance. If it is adulterated with fake honey or honey, it will never burn.

3. Freezing test: If the honey is pure, it will not freeze if it is kept in the fridge. And if it is fake then it will freeze. And if adulterated honey is mixed in the honey, it will solidify in the bottom of the honey.

4. Density test: Naturally collected honey is much thinner, much like mustard oil. When you move the bottle back and forth, you will see that it is rolling very fast. However, cultivated honey will be a little heavier.
